So, just posting some pics of the new studio. So much to clean! Worked on it a bit tonight, more pics of the finished product this week.
I made some awesome black diamon stacking rings for my buddy from high school and she just blogged about me here. Now if only I had a pic of the rings….soon.
Just saw this on Beth Lauren’s website. This is some cute stuff! I’m a sucker for fiber arts.
So I participated in another show this weekend, the Launch SF Sample Show at the W Hotel. Awesome venue and great show promoters. Lots of fun!
Here are some pics:
I also met some Cal students who are staff on a fashion magazine called Bare Magazine. Interestingly, one of the staffers went to the same high school as me as well. Caaa-razy!
Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday season! xo
I just found this online…this is similar to Ninh Wysocan’s work. Lots of chains! I do like the screw earrings a lot. Thoughts?
Ok, so I did not finish Resident Evil. What was I thinking? That is way too scary for me. I can hardly handle Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Well still working on the lookbook. I can’t wait to show it to everyone. I think it looks great already but still so many nit-picky things to fix.
Also, I have been playing with some sterling silver chains I’ve been making. I will upload pics by the end of the week. I keep playing, experimenting. I’m not quite happy yet, they seem a bit ho-hum but it’s always fun to wear something against your skin that you made yourself.
Started looking at Ninh Wysocan’s work. It’s trendy now but I think she’s the one that started this whole obsession with chains and wearing multiple, woven chains. I still really like it even though I don’t always think it’s me. I keep coming back to her page though. I think it’s the fact that I feel that there is an intention to her work and a thoughtfulness about her pieces in relationship to how they are worn on the body.
Ok, so I’m watching Resident Evil and looking up more lookbooks on the web on this dark and gloomy day. Resident Evil is scaring the beejeesus out of me. But I just found 22 Design Studio’s concrete jewelry press release. This has tempered the fear.
Interesting concept. I like the finger size rings. I’ve never tried on a concrete ring but….is that comfortable? I feel like it would abrade the skin but no clue. The materials costs are low though. I bet it’s fun to mix the concrete too. I keep imagining a mini-concrete mixer.
Back to my lookbook, Resident Evil, and some jewelry polishing!
